Lynn Newsome to lecture at the 2014 Family Law Symposium

Lynn Newsome, Esq will lecture on the differences between sole legal custody and joint legal custody at the 2014 Family Law Symposium. Sponsored by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) in cooperation with the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) Family Law Section, the symposium will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the East Brunswick Hilton. The annual event was attended by over 700 family law attorneys, judges, paralegals and other related professionals last year.

[nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-4″], Esq. has long been recognized as a leader in the legal community. A well respected attorney, she has practiced exclusively in the area of Family Law. A Certified Matrimonial Trial Attorney, Ms. Newsome’s practice is limited exclusively to family law. She is an experienced litigator who has tried all types of family law matters. She also is a certified mediator and has mediated and arbitrated many matters in addition to accepting appointments as a discovery master and as a guardian.

A past president of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Ms. Newsome is former chair of its Family Law Section. She is also a longstanding member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Family Practice Committee. A member of the American Bar Association, she serves in its House of Delegates. She currently is a past member of the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents. Ms. Newsome is also past President of the Morris County Bar Association.

Ms. Newsome has been honored and recognized with some of the highest awards bestowed in the legal profession. She was the recipient of the Saul Tischler Family Law Section Award in 2006 for her lifetime contributions to the advancement of Family Law in the State of New Jersey. In 2009, she was awarded the Samuel Saiber Professional Award by the Essex County Bar Association. She was also the recipient of the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award in 2012, which was presented to her by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. Ms. Newsome is also a frequent lecturer and panelist in the areas of family law.

Ms. Newsome has been listed in Super Lawyers – New Jersey Edition in the area of Family Law, as well as listed in the TOP 50 Female Lawyers and the Top 100 Attorneys in New Jersey.
